Busy busy summer!

Well half the summer is already gone!! It has been amazing, but very busy!! Thankfully I have been busy with things that I love!
The first week we all packed up and went to El Paso for one of my cousin's wedding!! It was hot and the drive was long, but very very well worth it!! I got to see some amazing family, saw a lot of new sites, and had a bunch of fun!!
The second week, I went to a medical camp at our local hospital. It was probably the coolest camps I have ever been to!! We discected an eyeball(AWESOME!), sutured(stitched up) a banana, got to go into every part of the hospital, and learned how to start and IV and an IO. It was very much fun, and I will definatly be going next summer!!
In between then, I have been babysitting, babysitting, going to youth events at church, and we made one more trip to El Paso for another cousin's wedding!! It definatly has been busy, but at least I can say that I didn't waste my summer doing nothing!
This summer God has definatly been speaking to me in amazing ways. I have discovered a strong desire to go to China with the group from my church that goes every summer. I am hoping that I will be able to go sometime in the near future, but I will have to wait for God to reveal his timeing to me.
Also this summer, my youth group has been doing a book study on an amazing book called "Radical" by David Platt. I read it last summer, and loved it, but it is amazing to hear what my friends think of it. Last summer, the youth group did a book study on "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan, which I HIGHLY recommend!! It is an amazing book, and God spoke to me a lot through it.
It is hard to believe that half the summer is already gone!! This week will be the last week that I will be babysitting my sister. In two weeks, I will go to church camp in Denton! I am VERY excited about it!!! Last year we went to Tennessee, and it was an amazing experience!! The week after that starts summer band boot camp, and will go on into the school year. So that's my summer!! It has been fun!!! I hope everyone has a great rest of the summer!!!!!!! :)

Summer is HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summer is finally here!!! It is SO good to take a break from school!! Most of my summer is booked with camps, trips, and lots of other stuff, but this week I have time to just chill at home with Sasha!! I have done quite a bit already this summer, so here are a few pics of my summer so far...

In Florida
Epcot! My favorite park in Disney!
China! My favorite part of Epcot!
Catching frogs
Washing the dog
Silly dog!!
So those are a few things that the summer has brought me! We went to Disney with my band, so it was before school ended, but it was really hot, so I consider it summer. I have a lot coming up such as going to Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock with my youth group(I am absolutely ECSTATIC about it!), going to El Paso to see tons of family(super ecstatic about that too!!!), and Camp Med. Camp Med is at our local hospital, and we will get a chance to explore different health care careers. We will go to all the different sections of the hospital, and if time allows, we will be able to "shadow" a doctor specializing in our interest. I am really excited!!
I will try not to take so long to write my next blog as I did with this one. I will hopefully have time to write another one closer to the beginning of July. I hope everyone's summer is great and enjoyable!!! :)

Rockport Vacation

For spring break this year, we packed our bags, and headed to Rockport. Thankfully, with the luxury of  Grandma and Grandpa's motor home. It was a week filled with different sights and experiences. But the ride going there was kinda long...
But we managed to keep ourselves busy with games...

We arrived, and decided to go do some hiking to check out the camp ground...

The hike was great, and we took many more throughout the week. We got up early the next morning, and headed out to the pier to see where we would do most of our fising and crabbing. The sky was gorgeous...

On one of our many bicycle rides, we saw a big tree that was just calling my name to climb it! I tried to find a way to get on the tree...

I finally found a way up. I felt quite victorious!

Later that day, we went back to the pier, but stopped at "Stinky Beach". We thought it was very hilarious!!

After a laugh at Stinky Beach, and unsuccessfull crabbing there, we decided to head to the pier for hopes of lots of crabs...

We crabbed for a while, and ended up catching six crabs!

At the end of a successfull crabbing, tree climbing, bike riding day, we had a good dinner!

The next day, Sasha decided to come along with me to the big tree. I think she felt victorious too...

After that, we decided to go to Port Aransas. It took a ferry to get over to the island...

At Port Aransas, we got to go to the wildlife refuge, and saw people carying out sea turtles that were being let go the next day...

On the ferry ride back to Rockport, we saw some dolphins swimming by...

For dinner that night, we went to The Boiling Pot. They served crawfish, crab, and great peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

The next day we did some shopping, art gallery looking, and getting ready for night fishing! We were successsfull in catching a lot of small speckeled trout, but sadly none of them were big enough to keep. Chet definatly enjoyed the catching part, even though he did not get to keep them. He never fails to make me laugh, saying "It's ok that we can't keep them. I don't like eating them anyway! I just like catching them!" He was quite happy!

We caught a few croakers. I think thats what they are called. The name describes thier sound quite efficiently!

The next day was St. Patrick's Day, and we all managed to wear something green...

We went to the beach at Port Aransas and had a lot of fun! We got to see some really cool syncronized kites...

On the very last day, dad got lucky, and caught a big red fish. Not sure what it's called...

We all had a very great time! It definatly was a well spent spring break!
